“Open Discussion Forum: How Design is Changing with the Introduction of Innovative Technologies in the Green & Digital Transition”
as part of the EU project SHAPE-THE-LIGHT

This forum will serve as a space for professionals, designers, industry leaders, and young talents to explore the role of innovative technologies in the dual digital and green transition in lighting design. The event will foster an open dialogue to encourage co-creation and the development of sustainable and cutting-edge lighting solutions.
Special Guest: Stefano Claudio Bison (Product Designer, SID – Scuola Italiana Design), who will share insights on the challenges and opportunities for the future of design.
At the event stand, visitors will also have the opportunity to explore three artistic installations, created within the Performance Lab “SID Lighting Camp”. These works represent the intersection of creativity, material research, technological innovation, and co-creation, showcasing how lighting design can evolve towards a sustainable and forward-thinking approach:
- “Hope and Dreams” – Inspired by Chinese lanterns, this piece is made using PLA-based biopolymers (polylactic acid), a compostable material that reduces environmental impact, developed with the contribution of Light Cube srl.
- “Try to Breathe” – Aims to raise awareness about marine pollution through the use of recycled materials and bioplastics derived from seaweed, creating an evocative and responsible lighting experience, designed with Nectogroup srl.
- “Abbagli” – Explores light as both an artistic and functional element, combining recycled cellulose fiber panels with energy-efficient LED technology, developed in collaboration with Arte Light srl.
